The Elkhart County Board of Commissioners adopted Ordinance CO 2026-03 on February 2, 2026, updating the fee schedule for the Elkhart County Health Department under Chapter 41 of the Elkhart County Code. The new fee schedule takes effect April 1, 2026, and covers a wide range of services across several departments, including Environmental Health, Dental, Health Education, Community Health Nursing, and Vital Records.

Environmental health fees cover annual retail food establishment permits, septic system construction permits, and commercial swimming pool licenses, among others.

Additional services covered include dental clinic procedures as well as public health programs like CPR/first aid courses, STI clinic visits, tuberculosis testing, and vital records such as certified birth and death certificates. The ordinance also addresses sewer determination services under Indiana Code.
